GILL ALT ONE MT FONT

is the portion that relates to the email body text size. But a setting of 3 is to small, and a setting of 4 is too big. So I was just wondering if there is some way I can set the font to be exactly size 11, and the text to be formatted as Calibri?

apparently by setting the "font-size=11pt" instead of setting the font size ,It allows you to select a specific font size like you normally would in a text editor, as opposed to selecting a value from 1-7 like my code was originally.

I am trying to reproduce a term from an old Siṇhala-English dictionary. I have checked several fonts and the best candidates for the job seemed coming from the Bhashitha font family. The font contains some ligatures. The question is how to get them automatically?

It's likely there is a better font and/or way for this task, the Bhashitha font family is the Level 3 font, it's probably the best font we could get these days. Still, my next step would be to check fonts from , but it's hard to say if I can improve my current state.

Edit: I've checked those fonts manually and it looks none of them is the Level 3 font. The biggest file in size is [Thara]( ; 930 KB), but even that font contains only a basic set of glyphs.

I am enclosing an example and a preview of my efforts. The first preview is from xelatex, the second picture is a result without compositions/ligatures after running lualatex. My last screenshot is a proof that some old ligatures are present in the font.

Gill Sans is the famous set of humanist sans serif fonts originally designed by Eric Gill and the Monotype Type Drawing Office, first appearing in 1928. Gill studied under the renowned calligrapher, Edward Johnston, the designer of the London Underground sans serif typeface. This influenced Gill who later experimented with sans serif designs, and in due course produced a set of capital letters. These became Monotype series 231, produced in 1923, and the forerunner of the extensive Gill Sans range now available. A twentieth century sans serif that has a simplicity of form which does not reject traditional forms and proportions, and gives the face a humanist feel. The lighter weights are highly readable in text and suitable for magazine and book work, whereas the heavier weights are best used for display in advertising, packaging, and labels.

The font is modern and easy to read. This makes it a great font for both web and print material. It comes in 15 different styles which means it can easily be used for body paragraph text or headlines. This is what makes it such a popular font.

Because there is no accepted, universal taxonomy of fontproperties, matching of properties to font faces must be donecarefully. The properties are matched in a well-defined order toinsure that the results of this matching process are as consistent aspossible across UAs (assuming that the same library of font faces ispresented to each of them).

The property value is a prioritized list of font family namesand/or generic family names.Unlike most other CSS properties, component values are separatedby a comma to indicate that they are alternatives:

Although many fonts provide the "missing character" glyph, typically an open box, as its name implies this should not be considered a match for characters that cannot be found in the font. (It should, however, be considered a match for U+FFFD, the "missing character"character's code point).

Font family names must either be given quoted as strings, or unquoted as a sequence ofone or more identifiers. This meansmost punctuation characters and digits at the start of each token mustbe escaped in unquoted font family names. For example, the following declarations are invalid:font-family: Red/Black, sans-serif;font-family: "Lucida" Grande, sans-serif;font-family: Ahem!, sans-serif;font-family: test@foo, sans-serif;font-family: #POUND, sans-serif;font-family: Hawaii 5-0, sans-serif;If a sequence of identifiers is given as a font family name, thecomputed value is the name converted to a string by joining all theidentifiers in the sequence by single spaces. To avoid mistakes in escaping, it is recommended to quote fontfamily names that contain white space, digits, or punctuationcharacters other than hyphens:body font-family: "New Century Schoolbook", serif Font family names that happen to be the same as a keywordvalue ('inherit', 'serif', 'sans-serif', 'monospace', 'fantasy', and'cursive') must be quoted to prevent confusion with the keywords withthe same names. The keywords 'initial' and 'default' are reserved forfuture use and must also be quoted when used as font names. UAs mustnot consider these keywords as matching the ''type.

Generic font families are a fallback mechanism, a means ofpreserving some of the style sheet author's intent in the worst casewhen none of the specified fonts can be selected. For optimumtypographic control, particular named fonts should be used instyle sheets. All five generic font families are defined to exist in allCSS implementations (they need not necessarily map to five distinctactual fonts). User agents should provide reasonabledefault choices for the generic font families, which express thecharacteristics of each family as well as possible within the limitsallowed by the underlying technology.User agents are encouraged to allow users to select alternativechoices for the generic fonts.15.3.1.1 serifGlyphs of serif fonts, as the term is used in CSS, tend to have finishingstrokes, flared or tapering ends, or have actual serifed endings(including slab serifs). Serif fonts are typicallyproportionately-spaced. They often display a greater variation betweenthick and thin strokes than fonts from the 'sans-serif' generic fontfamily. CSS uses the term 'serif' to apply to a font for any script, although other names may be more familiar for particular scripts, suchas Mincho (Japanese), Sung or Song (Chinese), Totum or Kodig (Korean).Any font that is so described may be used to represent thegeneric 'serif' family.Examples of fonts that fit this description include: 2ff7e9595c
